Dr. Koryn Swearingen is a native of Champaign-Urbana. She attended the University of Illinois as an Animal Science Major and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Newfoundland's were a breed of choice growing up, so getting used to hair and slobber came naturally. After spending her first 7 years out of school in the beautiful state of New Hampshire, she returned home to the Midwest. She currently lives in Lake Villa with her husband Rick. The family currently shares their home with "IVY", a Golden Retriever, a Hanoverian horse named Primm and 2 cats, Jack and Schy.
Dr. Swearingen's personal passion is horseback riding. She also spends her free time boating, water skiing and enjoying their farm down state. Koryn and her husband Rick also enjoy visiting their 4 adult children - Ashleigh, Stephani, Brooke and Jacob. Her favorite aspect of practicing Veterinary Medicine is serving pets of her own community. Her approach is very personal and tailored to the individual needs of each family.
